To Delegates and Alternates

To Delegates and Alternates

I want to thank all of our York County Democratic Party delegation for the outstanding job you did at the 2017 SCDP State Convention. Our delegation was once again one of the most attended and largest Democratic Party county delegations represented at this year’s convention.
Thank you all for your dedication and patience at the convention. I was proud to see that the vast majority of our delegation remained until the final gavel.
I was thrilled to see many new faces involved this year as well as long time friends and YCDP Democratic activists.
Several other county chairs mentioned to me how impressed they were with how our county is always well represented and engaged at SCDP conventions and remains so until the closing gavel.
You are all great Democrats! You persevered through a lengthy credentialing process, made our voices heard and count in electing the new leadership team, were there for the rules and resolutions votes, dealt with parking and venue issues all while remaining in good spirits.
You are the reason we continue to be recognized as one of the most outstanding county parties in South Carolina. Confirming once again why we received the first award as Outstanding South Carolina County Democratic Party from the SCDP.
I also thank all of you who serve on the Executive Board who gave your time and hard work serving on the Platform and Resolutions Committee and the Rules Committee, kept our delegation lists up to date, notified our delegation, and helped make this convention a success for our county and state parties.
I especially thank Benny Dawkins, Dorothy Seale, Betty Villano, and Cherie Mabrey for your assistance as we signed in our delegation.
We have a new leadership team at SCDP and must now move forward together in doing the hard work of electing Democratic candidates in South Carolina.
We have a Congressional SC CD 5 and SC House District 48 campaign to win! Looking forward to working with you as we canvass, phone bank, and get out the vote.
Best always,

In Solidarity.

Jim Thompson,

your YCDP chair
